Question about double lands (from a beginner)

Hello,
I would like to invest in Magic for Modern format.
But before that, one question popped in my mind : What are the best type of double land ? Which one to avoid ?
Filterland, battleland, checkland, shockland, fastland or revealland ?
I do think it depends on the type of deck and I would like some advice or explanation about it.
