I think it’s interesting, and realistic, that Joan struggles to find a partner who is on her level in spite of how attractive she is

Of course, I think part of the point is that by the end, she’s not solely focused on finding a husband (and I think she obviously never wanted the housewife life anyhow.) But I think it’s interesting that Joan’s second husband Greg, a handsome doctor, still proves to be a terrible fit for her.

Joan is a beautiful woman. You’d think that if anyone could easily end up with a wealthy man, it’d be her. But I think it’s interesting that we see Joan’s relationship fail - she likely doesn’t come from money, unlike Betty and Trudy, and I feel that this is a factor in how things turned out.
