Housing Question from Out of Towner
Post Body

What’s the housing situation look like in Madison? I am on out of stater that is considering applying for an job opening with my company’s Madison office.

From online searches, it doesn’t appear there is much available in the neighborhoods I am interested in.

Is it a competitive market? I know Covid messed things up with demand but, in general, will I get into a major bidding war with other buyers when properties become available in desirable areas?

Desired areas: Middleton, Waunakee, Shorewood Hills, Verona, or similar areas.

Price point: 400-600 K

Desired move in date: late winter/early spring (March-April-May)

Preference for a sizeable yard and 4 bedrooms.

If I would want more acreage (2-10 acres) where is a good place to look that is within reasonable commuting distance?

Thanks in advance!
