I need recommendations for adjusting my diet
Post Body

Hi all:

Here’s the low down: I, 19F (in college, a part of the problem) have been tracking calories for a few days bc i’ve gained more weight than I am comfortable with now. I was ok with initial gain bc i was underweight and had no shape, but now I have officially hit uncomfy physically and emotionally and mentally and probably at the point where a doc would tell me to lose a few.

My recent tracking was a baseline to see what my normal eating was like. I eat way too much fat, usually about or a bit under on carbs, and under on protein. I tried upping my protein once but didn’t up fiber too and had issues there. Living on a college campus is hard bc I have to pay for a meal plan so buying groceries for full meals isn’t cost effective, but dining hall food isn’t adjustable as much. I’ve been trying to eat more of the tikka masala they offer at the curry bar because it’s whole grain rice as well as fruit and salads, but honestly I don’t eat there as much as I should anyways. I do eat some microwave meals that are high in protein but I guess I don’t look at fats, carbs, or fiber when choosing.

So: tips? What foods are high in carbs and or protein but low in fat? What sorts of swaps can I make?

Edit: exercise is a factor. I used to be underweight because I was pre professionally training as a dancer but stopped for many personal reasons. Exercise is hard because of dance related trauma and my own issues keeping a schedule, but I am on my feet a lot, walking on campus, in lab classes, and bike to some classes.
