I've put the details of my particular situation below, but my question is: I want to find a reasonably priced protein powder with protein isolate whey (I understand this is more easily digestible protein) and cassin for fullness. Each morning I make myself a 'milkshake' of coffee, low-fat milk, vanilla, and sometimes unsweetened cocoa powder, which I drink mostly because I don't like drinking only coffee but like the taste and caffine boost.
I'm overweight-to-obese and my dietician recommended adding protein powder to my 'milkshake' for the above reasons. I bought a sample pack of different flavors from PEScience and they're way too sweet - I can't stomach them. But when I look at reviews, it seems like almost all of the powders are either flavored or leave some kind of aftertaste.
I work out 3 or 4 times a week for between .5. and 1.5 hours each time - the lower amount is recent because I've had medical issues which affected my ability to exercise. I'm improving so will be racheting up the exercise to my previous 3x week for 1 to 1.5 hours each time (this is a sport I participate in so I can't really cut the amount of time per session).
Are their protein powders with no taste and no sugar? I'm confused by reading reviews as there's a lot of scientific-sounding things I don't understand or honestly care about. I don't need to be Superwoman, I just need help losing weight. I don't plan to use the powder all the time, just once in the morning or every other morning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
