Logitech mouse will not highlight properly in Firefox browser

I have an M705 mouse. Works perfectly for dragging/highlighting/ copying and pasting text in Chrome or Brave browsers. But it doesn't work in Firefox. When I place my cursor on a single letter in a word & double click it will not highlight the word. Instead it will automatically highlight the entire paragraph. When I try to double click on a word and then drag the mouse to highlight a few words or sentence of text, the highlight disappears before I can drag the text or copy the text.

I'm using a desktop PC. Any thoughts what might be wrong and how to fix it?
