State Residency Issue, Would Backdating A Lease Help?

Post Body

I live in SC. I moved here during the pandemic from Florida because I have family in SC that took me in. I was ready to continue my education in SC, having lived here for a year, but I was told that living here with family doesn’t qualify me for residency. I must also have pain rent & had a place as my legal domicile. I paid for private student loans to cover the cost of out of state tuition for one semester, but next semester I’m SOL.

My question is, if I backdate a lease agreement with my grandmother showing that we shared a landlord/tenant relationship for a year prior to the beginning of the upcoming semester beginning, would that qualify me for in-state tuition?

Edit: I should make clear that I have already spent one semester as an out of state student.
