so I need some advice to help my gf.

she is planning to move from ny to michigan, but her parents do not want it to happen. when she purchased her vehicle in december of 2018 they put the purchase I her mother's name on the title and the loan that is currently on the car but it was verbally agreed upon that it was to be her car.

she has records of.l the down payment coming from her mutual fund. and she has made all of the payments for the last 18 months with paper checks I her name.

she also pays her mother monthly through a money transfer app to cover the cost of insurance.

my question is if they are threatening to take this car bc she moves what are her options? if they refuse to let her take over the loan can she sue them for the car? or the value she has paid towards the car.

the loan has 8k left to be paid my she has made 11k in total payments on the purchase of the car.

any advice would be greatly appreciated!
