Last night, I was at a park with my friends. We were in the car rolling, when the copes appeared. They smelled weed which was enough for them to search us. They caught my friends for the grinder, they both received citations. I was sent to jail, where i spent roughly 6 hours, friends paid 300$ bond.
I was given two different charges, possession of marijuana ( I had 2gs) and possession of controlled substance ( less than 1 g of kief). I have gotten in trouble which police before, last year I was caught drinking underage and had to go through probation which I passed cleanly. Would I need to get a lawyer? I am completely freaking out because some of my friends are saying this might cost in the upwards $2ks, which I don't have at all. I would reall appreciate some help/ advice. I was told, by the bail bond people, that they would guess Ill get probation for a few months to a year. I'm honestly hoping theyre right. About me- I am a 20 year old male college student. I was born in Texas and both my parents are from Vietnam. Been in trouble by cops lsat year for underage drinking.
