So I just got pulled over in my Tesla. I went 0-115 (70 km road) in a couple of seconds on a light that had just turned green.
Cop was nice about it and said since I cooperated he just gave me a ticket for the offence of ‘disobeyed traffic signs’ (70km/h) rather than a speeding ticket. He mentioned he could’ve impounded my car and sent me walking, which I don’t doubt, and I understand my fault so I didn’t bother being noncompliant. He couldn’t give me a ‘speeding’ ticket since he didn’t use a lidar to get my exact speed.
Just a couple of questions as this is my first ticket ever.
- Should I fight it ?
- Do I automatically get demerit points (he didn’t state it)
- Is it worth fighting ?
- How much is my insurance going to go up by?
- What are the chances of me waiving this ticket in Ontario if I do fight it ?
Thanks in advance!
