Hi! I live in an apartment in Michigan. My car got towed by my apartment. They put a sign in the main hallway of my building stating that parking passes needed to be renewed by a specified date otherwise it would be towed on our expense. I work from home, don’t leave the house much, plus my car isn’t running at the moment. I did not see this communication. My roommate is the one who notified me that my car got towed. I am now having to pay a large fee for tow storage and getting it towed back to my apartment. There is nothing in my lease stating parking passes should be renewed yearly. There was no mail, email, text communication. I called the office and they said “Well, we put up the paper and posted it on our instagram.” Is that proper communication? Is this legal to say we hung up a paper in a hallway and that was our communication?
