Before I started university, I had already completed an online course in computational thinking that was taught in Python. When I started university I took a basic programming course taught in C and then a data structures and algorithms class also taught in C . Now I am planning to transfer to another institution where the language of instruction will be Java. I want to directly enter their upper level programming class because I already have some understanding of data structures and algorithms; however, I don't know Java. What is the best method for me to quickly pick up Java for my upcoming course if I already understand basic CS concepts? Also, if I understand the theory behind different data structures and algorithms, how difficult is it to implement them in a new language?
