I already asked about this on r/fasting, which is probably where this belongs, but due to the larger reader base on this subreddit and the lack of answers on r/fasting i figured i'll try it here. I'm ~11% bodyfat and decided to do a 5 day fast to quickly push myself into the ~9% range. I'm an experienced lifter (sidenote: 5'8" 146 20y/o) and was curious as to if there was any science behind lifting without refeeding with protein for 24 hours. From an evolutionary perspective, it would seem that the body would not catabolize the muscle (as obviously, due to the physical stress of the workout, i still need to hold on to the muscle), and i would just remain sore until i refeed with protein and my muscles can fully recover; though i am not sure if the body is actually capable of this... Has anyone had experience with this or have seen studies regarding very long anabolic windows?
i would do psmf on training days and fasting or psmf on rests depending how u feel.
with psmf i mean 300gr protein at least.
