We have been aware that 2LW is a huge need forever; but maybe we didn't need to acquire a 2LW to fill that need?

There was a lot of buzz pre season about Tavares moving to the wing like Stamkos did.

Maybe instead of rolling 3centres deep like we did in the Kadri days it makes more sense to have ROR be our 2C and move Tavares to 2LW.

This accomplishes the goal of solidifying our top 2 lines at all 6 spots. It pushes a quality bottom 6 guy back into the bottom 6 where he can probably have a larger impact. It also means any salary getting moved out in a future trade would have a larger impact. iMO it's a lot easier to find impact bottom 6 guys with 2-5M than a top 6 guy. It also leaves our bottom 6 more fluid for experimenting with Knies.
