Mostly I am hoping someone will tell me how much certain things cost them. I have never really hired people for things like this - so I don't even have a general idea. I have called and emailed with a few companies/people but they never tell you that kind of information until they come to your house to see what they would need to do.

- Do any of you have a recommendation for a general handyman?

- Have you replaced your flooring? What did you replace it with? How big was the room? How much did the installation cost?

- We have a BIG beautiful tree in our backyard. One of it's branches hangs over our roof. It is a healthy, huge branch but nonetheless it probably should go. I have no idea how they will take it down. Underneath a majority of the branch is our 2 story deck. If it falls during removal, it would probably mess that up.

Have any of you had to hire someone to remove a large tree or branches in the past few years? Do you mind telling me how much you paid to have it done? Anyone you recommend?

- We have these weeds that showed up this year. Are you guys getting them too? We've never had them before and now a lot of my neighborhood has them. I don't know what they are but it acts like a groundcover on steroids. It is taking over my yard. I have done all the standard things a homeowner who doesn't know much about landscaping can do but they just come back- in two days it seems! If I hired a professional how much would something like this cost? ( Standard size city of lafayette yard)
