Hey guys, I’m still relatively new to Squad with about 30 hours. I played a bit of rifleman starting out, and have spent the most time since then playing medic. I really like being able to contribute and support the team.
So, since I always hear people asking for more Logi drivers, I thought I might try it out. I know sometimes the Squad Leader in an infantry squad will just kind of ask someone in the squad to make Logi runs, but I’ve also seen people make dedicated Logi squads and that kind of interests me more.
So with that in mind I had a few questions that I figured I’d ask here before trying in game, because I frequently see people get flamed for literally nothing and want to avoid that if possible lol. Sorry if any of these questions are common sense or kind of dumb. I’m really just trying to learn more and effectively contribute to a team and I’m still learning all the different metas.
1) First of all is there even a point to running a dedicated Logi squad? Or would it just be better to be in an infantry squad and just be the Logi guy?
2) What kit? Usually if the SL of an infantry squad asks someone to do it then they’re usually just still using their rifleman kit or whatever. But if I was a dedicated driver then it would make more sense to use a crewman kit right? Or does it not really matter?
3) If I have my own Logi squad then would it make sense for me to just lock the squad to myself? It doesn’t seem like I would really need anyone else. Or should I just let people join if they decide to?
4) What to do at the start of a match? Grab a Logi and ferry a squad to their first objective? Hang out and wait to see where FOBs are being built?
