I Have a Paralyzing Fear of Getting Fired

Post Body

Hi everyone! I’m about a month and a half into a new job and, as the post says, I’m terrified of being fired.

l got a new boss about 3 weeks ago (the company was expanding a department) and she noted that I was not set up for success prior to her coming on board. She’s pretty honest with her feedback with me but I’m still REALLY struggling lately with my fear of getting fired. I should also note that I’m on a 3 month probation trial period, which amplifies the fear. My boss said she doesn’t believe in trial periods and that it’s her decision whether I stay or go, so I don’t need to stress about that… But I’m still constantly anxious.

I’ve been working SO much (10-12 hour days) and am always really stressed out. I’ve made a few tiny mistakes (typos) and have been told my main area of improvement is attention to detail. I’m also struggling because some stats are down since I’ve been hired (I’m a at a job with very visible OKRs and KPIs) in some areas but they are also higher in others. So... I don't know if that means anything.

My boss gives me praise in some areas and negative feedback in others. I'm told this is normal? I don't want to let my anxiety prevent me from success but it's becoming quite intense. Any help you might have is appreciated.
