Wrist locks - etiquette
Post Body

I was a new blue belt 6 years ago. I stopped for marriage/kids and have just recently gone to a new gym.

I am very rusty but things are coming back relatively quickly.

I rolled with a purple the other night and this guy hit me with like 5 wrist locks and I think mildly injured me. My left was so bad the next morning I can’t grip (dropped my oatmeal all over the kitchen). I was really aggravated about the situation. I know a part of this is my responsibility to not get wrist locked so I take some blame for that.

This dude was hitting them so fast and hard I couldn’t tap or yell tap fast enough before the extreme pain. My memory from 6 years ago makes me think a brown or black would have more control. Set the position then push into it so I had time to tap and not get hurt.

Maybe I’m being a pussy but I’m really annoyed over this. I don’t want to avoid the guy because maybe I can learn from it but I really don’t want to get injured either.

Thoughts?
