I went to shades state park Monday and wow. I had never heard anyone that I knew even talk about this park before, so I went on a whim. I instantly fell in love with it .The long , peaceful (but sometimes challenging) trails, the limestone rocks, the climbs up and down several hundred feet. Just how tranquil it was with the scenery and wildlife.
I ran into a few people when I first got there, but didn’t run into another soul for a couple hours. Just a great place to wind down, reflect, and enjoy your place in this life. It might just be my favorite state park now.
Does anyone else have good suggestions for great parks, especially for hiking? I’ve only ever been to a handful and would like to get out there and see even more…
Yeah it can be pretty secluded on weekdays. Nice place
