Has going to the gastroenterologist ever actually helped anyone?

Post Body

Iā€™m 25. Iā€™ve had 3 or 4 colonoscopies. Each timeā€¦seems like you have IBS. Iā€™ve cut gluten out of my diet completely at this point since itā€™s a huge trigger for me. My mom continues to insist I see a gastroenterologist, but if people have shoved cameras into my intestines and just come out with šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøIBS. I donā€™t think itā€™ll make a difference.

Going gluten free has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my flare ups. But I still get them from time to time. I have IBS-M. Has a gastro ever been able to help anyone?

I also have an eating disorder that has done an unknown amount of damage to my body including leaving me with a ā€œslow transitā€ colon.

EDIT: I canā€™t respond to everyone, but I did want to say THANK YOU for all of your responses and perspectives. Theyā€™ve been infinitely helpful. šŸ„°
