Debating whether to upgrade from 12 Pro Max to 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max

I have had the 12 Pro Max for sometime and before that I had an XS Max, so I am pretty used to the bigger screen format in iPhones. However recently I have felt that the screen and size of my 12 Pro Max is too big for my hand when typing and holding it.

I am interested in going back to a smaller size iPhone so I was looking at the 15 Pro. However I have seen bad reviews about the battery life and how it’s pretty bad compared to previous generations. Has anyone upgraded from 12 Pro Max to 15 Pro and seen a decrease in battery? Also do you think it’s worth it to get a 15 Pro Max over the 15 Pro? I don’t really mind the difference in optical zoom between them btw.
