For as long as I can remember, pictures have made me feel "What am I supposed to do with this?" To the extent that I am totally apathetic about clicking pictures on special occasions and days. I even find following comics hard and uninteresting, and feel confused how others enjoy them. While I will whole-heartedly enjoy reading novels, listening to audio or music, or longer-videos-that-establish-context. Perhaps it's the context I value so much, and the absence of it makes me feel uncomfortable?
There may be more to it than just context though. In my family, I don't recall my parents actively taking out time to go through pictures and recollect old memories. We do do that through story-telling, but seldom by having pictures in front of us. All of is have been "goal focused" in that we are usually thinking about the "next thing to do" rather than pause and reflect on memories. A large reason for the goal-oriented-ness was just financial troubles, so I don't regret it; and it is only now that we are in a financially comfortable place that these reflections are possible. But it is also the case thst my parents (or anyone around me) are much more enthusiastic about pictures than me.
I am not sure if it's an HSP thing, or something else. Pointers would be greatly appreciated!
