Adding a 1/2 inch port to a 2 inch pipe
Post Body

Hi there!

I'm trying an experiment, and wanted to put a 1/2 inch "port" into my 2 inch pipe so I can run a sensor in my water after the pump but before the heater. I've got a sensor that screws into a 1/2 inch pipe thread. I've got 2 inch flexible pipe in my hot tub. I was hoping to find some sort of "T" pipe where I could cut the 2 inch pipe and glue the T in, and then screw my sensor into the third end of the T. Does anyone know of such a T, or know if I can make one? Perhaps plug a 3 way 2 inch T, then cap the third side with a plug that has a 1/2 in fitting?

I don't know enough about plumbing specifics to know if I'm on the right track or if these parts are made.

I'm also looking for good glue recommendations to keep this all from leaking.

Thanks
