Edit to say, I should have specifically said did nothing wrong in the opening lol

Ok so I mentioned how everything bad that happens in this movie happens from love and the best intentions. so someone mentioned he ran away from his wife and kid at the start. So this is my counter. As selfish as it can be seen to he, he warned them about letting the kid in, and the wife let him in anyway from love. It , from a pure survival standpoint, was a mistake. Don was right

. Then the infected do come, as don said they would. And when his wife wouldnt run, what else could he have possibly done? Do you think he could have fought off the infected single handedly? Do you just stand around and get torn apart for someone who didnt listen not just once, but twice? I felt for the kid but ultimately he brought that whole household,down. Don tried to get his wife to see it, then to run.

Honestly if someone wont listen when i tried to save them twice, what else can i do? My choices then are die with them painfully or run. Is it not love because he chose to live? I dont see what he could have done more.

Ultimately don being selfish and chosing to live was the right choice. He did survive because of it. But I also feel he did all he reasonably could in that situation. Hes not a military fighter, even if he was', he wasnt winning that fight. He tried to get his wife to first ignore the kid, which I get why she couldnt, but then she didnt feel when she could have. I dont see the logic in staying and dying when you tried to get someone to see sense, even as brutal as it was. People see him as a coward but I see him as a normal bloke who did everything he reasonably could
