My public school stepson brought home his I-Ready ābeginning of the yearā test scores today. He is way below average grade level (6th grade) for both ELA and math.
In ELA, the results said he would benefit from third grade level instruction. Math is an even bigger struggle for him and it shows on this test.
I should also noteā¦.he failed fifth grade and had to attend summer school in order to pass. Part of this is due to changing schools a lot in fourth and fifth grades - we just got him full time from his mother and Iām sure that caused him to miss some instruction at school. Plus he was just diagnosed with ADD in fifth grade.
Right now his grades are goodā¦but itās the beginning of his sixth grade school year. Iām afraid heās going to get further behind as the year progresses and more and more new concepts are introduced.
Any good supplemental online games/apps I could have him do at home to bring him up to grade level? I donāt want to put worksheets in front of him after a day of being in school. We are going to have him read more books at his lexile level to help too.
