I’ll try to keep this short. I bought a foreclosure with 22k to drop into it just to fix the major problems. I’ve been in the house 6 months and repaired 90% and I was right on budget! Almost everything is fixed and money is now running short. I was up putting on a new roof and made an awful discovery. A 4 foot space under my roof that had 0 insulation. I jumped onto the dormers and ripped those vents off...no insulation. Getting pissed I ripped some drywall...no insulation...in my entire...house... what are my options here? Money is tight but I figured I could save about 3-4K over the summer and try to solve the problem before our -20 winters hit again. My heat bill was 1200 last winter but I figured that was because I had a big empty house.
TL:DR my entire house was never insulated. What cheap effective insulation options are there where I don’t have to rip all my drywall?
