Ok so I know that this will be an unpopular opinion, but to be honest, I don't really like Frontlines that much and I think it needs to be changed pretty fundamentally. I decided to make a list of what I feel needs to change.
Guns: I feel like the weapons are ok but the lack of iron sights is a bit of an issue. That was a feature from NAW that I was cool with because the muskets had very random aim but with the guns in Frontlines being more accurate it kinda bothers me. I also feel like there needs to be more weapon variation since there are basically only bolt actions and revolvers. I would really really like to see at least one more weapon like a shotgun.
Melee: What exactly was the plan here? Every class is melee capable but it seems like the weapons are too accurate for this to make sense. I feel like the devs should either create more close-quarters maps to make it viable or add irons and maybe prone to focus more on shooting.
Classes: There need to be more classes and especially more fun and interesting ones. World War I was a conflict with tons of interesting stories to tell but I feel like the classes are kinda lackluster. It would be kinda cool if there were units from different countries unique to each side with special abilities. I would love to see Cossack Cavalry or German Storm Troopers.
Game modes: Right now it feels like all we have is a copy of conquest from Battlefield. My favorite part of Holdfast is the sieges and the chaos that came with them, but here it seems like all there is is skirmishes over points that don't seem to have quite the same gravity as NAW.
Maps: Kinda the same as the game modes, but I feel like the maps are too wide open and not linear enough. It doesn't really feel like WWI, and really just bolt action NAW.
I'm trying not to be rude here but I just find Frontlines to be a bit flat. There aren't that many classes, the fighting is not intense, and I feel like this is just bolt action NAW. Worst of all, I feel like this has a spillover effect into the community aspects of playing. I have found way fewer people using the voice chat and the fact that basically everyone is a rifleman cuts down on that teamwork that made the game so good. I play Holdfast for the unique combat and the fun community and right now I feel like Frontlines has neither.
