just a learner trying to figure out basics

I can't seem to get this down but I'm trying to learn the hockey stop basics, as I want to get into playing. I've been told to learn snowplow but every time I try it I keep on clicking the front of my blades into each other. Is there an easier way? I know it's dumb but I can't get it down, any tips?
