I'm a new crab owner who didn't know what i was getting into, and i have to say, I'm already learning a lot from the links on the side, mostly about how I'm doing everything wrong.

Anyway, something I read, but am not sure about, is if Ecuadorians are fine only having other crabs as friends. The Ecuadorian was my first, I got him from the fair (I had to rescue at least one, and the carny told me if I slipped him $2 he'd just give me one without having to win it), and I was so busy buying friends for him, that I didn't realize he was a totally different species as the ones I found, which I think are purple pincers. I read somewhere that Es have to have another E with them to be happy, but I don't know how true that is. So far he seems to be pretty hyperactive still, I just feel bad that he has so one to climb all day with. Is what I read true? I'd buy another, if I could find one, but that would push my crab count to 5 for a 10 gallon tank, which is a little on the small side (they're all small size crabs, I think), and also, well, I can't find another Ecuadorian. I've been calling all over for one, but they only have PPs. I only found them at one place online, but for an outrageous shipping cost.

So I'm not sure what to do, I want to make all my crabbos as happy as I can.
