Need some advice on being option B
Post Body

So long story short my ex fell in love with a coworker- we split when I found out about the affair but the coworker decided to stay with her partner leaving my ex alone.

We've been split for just under 4 months now but have kept in some contact. At the beginning he said he could never imagine us getting back together as he just wasn't in love with me.

Flash forward to more recently we had a convo where he said he could perhaps imagine us being together in future but he really just needed to mourn the breakup with his coworker. They were together for about 5 months vs. Us being together for 8 years.

I can really sympathize with his heartbreak because I'm in the same boat but I don't know what I'm doing anymore. I thought it would feel good to know he could see me as a partner again but it doesn't.

I guess my question is has anyone been option B and felt satisfied returning to a relationship?
