I am looking to see if anyone knows where I can send saw plates off to be sharpened. And if anyone knows anywhere in Oklahoma then bonus! I know, I know... its easy, do it yourself! Well I barely have time to put in an hour here or there on a project so it takes me months for relatively easy things. But I have gathered older saws in the hopes to refurbish them myself, which I am keeping one to do that eventually. But for the time being I would really like to have 2 or 3 of them sharpened for my next project so I dont end up jusy buying a veritas carcass saw. I'm making my own handles but don't really want to fuss with sharpening one, then figuring out I messed it up and then trying to do it again until I get frustrated and throw it to the side and not return to it for a long time.
And info is much appreciated!
The good addresses I have are french actually...
Honnestly it's hard to mess up, but you can do permanent damage if you do. Amongst the pile of tutorials you can find, Paul sellers' are the ones I prefer (he's my go to on every woodworking related subject). They are well done, he stresses on the potential problem and his voice and setting are nice. What I do like the most with him is that he gives you the philosophy over the mere technique and it's important to avoid messing up.
