Alternative Builder?

My company just changed to the new wordpress builder from the old v7 Website Builder. Unsurprisingly my boss hates it. There's several inches of wasted margin and this connect the blocks system is hard to use.
Is there any other builder (with sql security built in) that works like the old free form design? Anything where you just put text boxes, videos, graphics, etc. into place on a blank slate?
