Hello everybody!

I'm asking this question for a friend:

She and her husband moved to Munich from the US in 2020. Her husband has a Blue Card, is employed with pension payments, has knowledge of German, etc., which should be an easy case for permanent residence.

My friend is self-employed and currently has a residence permit through her husband's Blue Card. If her husband gets the permanent residence permit, will his wife automatically get it too? Or does she still have to meet certain criteria?

I have only found information regarding "Facilitation of family reunification" but technically it's not reunification because they are already living together in Germany. Or am I thinking too complicated? 😁
