How long do pineapples take

I started this plant from a grocery store pineapple. It’s been in the ground for over two years and started getting its first pineapple about three months ago. Here is a picture showing the size of it now. Is it not going to get as big as the ones in the grocery store? How do you know when it’s ready? I live in Florida, zone nine I have done nothing to the pineapple as far as fertilizing it watering it, etc.
