I've decided to get back into PC gaming after 15 years in console (PS and Switch). Bought myself a used Razer Blade 15 (works fantastic), and then naively bought Fallout 4 off the Microsoft Store. Got hit with the -2015294512 File Error (basically, Fallout 4 doesn't recognize Windows 10, and Windows can't find the Fallout launcher, especially when purchased off Microsoft rather than Steam--gonna rectify that today).
During my research into why I couldn't friggin' play a FALLOUT game on a PC, I downloaded the Bethesda Launcher, and then used it to access Bethesda customer service. And I have to say--Bethesda customer service rocks. I may have big issues with Bethesda not coordinating with MS to make sure Fallout 4 works with Windows 10, but Bethesda does it right when it comes to Customer Service. I got contacted right away via text, and the guy spent the next hour working through all the potential issues with me, while helping me update my drivers and get used to the Blade that I bought. We talked about how far PC gaming has come since I last dabbled (in 2004), and he restored my hope that I am not wasting my time.
We couldn't solve the problem--I'm going to have to buy the game again off Steam and go that route because it's a fundamental incompatibility between MS and Bethesda with regards to file structure and where the damn Fallout launcher.exe is at. But--damn Bethesda, you do it right when it comes to Customer Service. I entered into that interaction snarly and angry and burnt out, and emerged hopeful and willing to try again. That's how customer service should be.
