/u/weaponofmd made this post a couple hours ago, explaining that Iran - for the League of Legends regional tournament being held at their WCG - has banned the use of all female characters except Annie in games.

ﺗﺒﺼـﺮه: ﮐﻠﯿﻪ ﮐﺎراﮐﱰﻫﺎی Femaleﺑﺎزی ﺑﻪ ﺟﺰ Annie ﻣﻤﻨﻮع ﻣﯽ ﺑﺎﺷﻨﺪ.
Note I don't speak or read the language, I used Google Translate. It also didn't appear that any other game (Fifa, Warcraft, Starcraft, Counter-Strike) were placing restrictions on playable characters/units (thinking specifically War/Starcraft here) based on sex.
