And I don't even mean the general premise of the game. I mean, how the hell do I play it? I use to play a lot back in 2010, give or take some years. Not haven't played in at least a decade. Now my son wants to play and I look it up on Xbox... there's so many things to buy to play.
Which game is current and what do people play online? I take it MW3 is about to come out which seems weird since MW2 just came out last year. I downloaded one version and played online about a year ago but it seemed just like Fortnite... everyone just jumped in, grabbed weapons and played, so not like COD when I used to play with all the game modes and leveling up just gave you access to new weapons.
I cannot find some sort online guide for what I'm looking for. I'm not sure which game to buy/download now so my son and I can play some multiplayer. Or should I wait til MW3 is out? Thank you for any tips. Forgive me for being a boomer about this (ya know, a mid-30s boomer lol).
Edit: Sorry to those saying ask my son, he's 10 and doesn't know exactly which one he downloaded on the Xbox at his mom's. His friend plays MW2. The Microsoft store has MW2 and under included it lists a lot of content packs and the first item is "Call of Duty" which confused me since all the content packs say "Call of Duty Modern Warfare II - Content Pack ...". So I genuinely wasn't sure if the Call of Duty listed at the top of that pack was MW2.
