Has anyone ever had abdominal pain that they thought was related to their testosterone? I was hospitalized for 5 days 2 weeks ago and they could not find a cause. (TW: medical talk & drug names) LONG post

Hi folks. So, as the title states, I was hospitalized for severe abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant 2 weeks ago and they did an extensive work up but did not find anything. As a disclaimer, I am under the medical supervision of my primary care provider, Iā€™ll be doing a telehealth visit with my trans health provider next week, and Iā€™m waiting on gastroenterology to call me back to schedule an appointment so Iā€™m by no means looking to use Reddit to replace medical advice. Iā€™ve got the medical part covered.

They did a CT, an MRCP (special MRI to look at the pancreas/liver/gallbladder/bile ducts) an ultrasound, 3 rounds of blood tests (liver panel, CBC, etc), a stool culture for H. pylori (which can cause stomach ulcers) and a test for celiac disease, all of which came back negative. It was an 8/10 pain all throughout my visit except when they had me on dilaudid which brought it down to a 4/10. They diagnosed me with ā€œgastritisā€ (inflammation of the stomach lining) and sent me home with Tylenol and Prilosec.

I will note that my cholesterol and triglycerides tested very high about a month prior to my hospitalization.

My primary care doctor thinks I may have IBS and has instructed me to follow a low FODMAP diet which I have been mostly following.

Now, the only two things in my overly complicated medical history that had changed recently is 1) I started taking prescription strength naproxen for my chronic back/hip pain 4/5 days prior to the hospitalization (prior to that I was taking 800mg ibuprofen 3x a day & 1000mg Tylenol 3x a day alternating every 4 hours) and 2 weeks prior to hospitalization I restarted testosterone subq injections at .25ml weekly after a few months on testosterone patches that werenā€™t working because my testosterone only got up to 85.

So, has anyone ever experienced abdominal pain as a side effect of T or have any advice as to what I should ask my trans health endocrinologist at my next appointment?

Right now the pain is intermittent but can sometimes reach a 7/10. I donā€™t know when I will be able to have my gastroenterology appt because they are backed up right now.
