Should I start an alt character?

I bought the game at launch and have gone away and comeback… 4 times? Pretty sure 4 times. Overall I love the game and make my available free time count but I do have a pretty busy life and will never put in the amount of effort into a 2nd character as I have my 1st (currently lvl 243).

So my question really is, are there any practical benefits to an alt character that I can enjoy on my main? Like anything to do with currencies or a situation where I could hop on the alt for 20 minutes a day and reap some kind of benefit on my main?
