I love hiking and walking trails and have done so on a a lot of mountains etc.
Am visiting FL and honestly wondering, is it safe to walk at the state forests down here? Example, little big Econ. Can I take my 5 year old?
Looks like you had .1% of all the bears in the state on your porch at one time.
"Black bears are the only species of bear found in Florida. FWC biologists estimate that there are approximately 4,050 black bears in Florida."

I just plain don't believe you about the bear prints. Bears are rare in Florida and are small for bears. The bears are easily spooked by people and will run in they hear you.
Fl Panthers are extremely rear on the endangered species list and are radio collared and tracked. There has never been a panther attack in Florida. Ever.
We don't have wolves.
We do have lots of bobcats they are also easily spooked by people though.
My back yard touches a very large wildlife area and I hike often. As long as you don't go swimming in a swamp the heat is the most dangerous thing this time of year. It's no joke and if you feel off call it a day.

There has also never been a reported panther attack. Not ever.
