Using “man terms” to explain boring knitting

Post Body

My boyfriend is a big dumb man and has no way of understanding a silly girly hobby like knitting. I was complaining about frogging my project and he wanted to understand what that meant, and same for tinking! I decided to use my silly brain to explain in genius terms he understands related to something all men love and understand - porn!

I carefully explained that frogging something is like when you’re watching a good adult film but it cuts off the scenes early because it’s just a preview to make you sign up for their site. Tinking is more like finding a good part of a video and having to rewind a bunch over and over until you’re satisfied. He instantly got it and was sort of slightly empathetic!!

I just thought this was cute and might help others be inspired 🥰

Oh so smart! Let’s see. We can call knitting needles “danger dildos”. Knitting on dpn’s is like an orgy! Increases are like when you invite someone new to the bedroom for a three-way. And decreases are when one of the sister wives leaves the cult. Dropping a stitch is like when your condom falls off - oh no!

And crochet is obviously the 50-something year old prostitute that works the seedy corners of town to fund her meth habit, because fuck crochet. What, did you expect me to call it hooking? Don’t be crass.
