Hello! Me and my babies are really having issues with litter training. Inside of the cage we have achieved a very high success rate, but when outside the cage, it all comes crashing down.
They know where to poop. They get litter boxes in their corners (I use corner litter boxes with a high wall that can fit their whole body ), but for some reason, they love pooping in front or to the side of the litter box.
The box is clean, has a small amount of poop for them to know its the bathroom, but otherwise is spotless. I clean up all messes in the wrong area, but it wont stop, they just love pooping next to their litter, not in it.
Im going to try changing pellets after Im out. I redirect and reward poopies in the right place, and if theyre in the wrong, after I redirect I make them smell the litterbox to associate it with the place to poop.
Still, I only really have a 30% success rate. I bought them 4 weeks ago. How on earth do I get them to go in the litter more often? Im fine with mistakes but constantly pooping 1 inch from the litter box isn't a mistake.
