i’m one of those people that went through a pretty distinct style shift. i pretty much turned in to the exact opposite and i love it far more than i loved my old style.
my change was caused mainly by discovering that i was non binary and that throwing in menswear and dressing more androgynously sometimes does wonders for alleviating dysphoria (combined with a proper binder, being referred to with gender neutral pronouns and a queer friendly therapist ofc)! it was a relatively recent change but i feel so much more “me” and it’s so rad.
but even before, i had my own sense of style that i paid attention to. i went through the whole aesthetic discovery pinterest/ffa rabbit hole as an eager 13 year old that wanted to start buying their own clothing. going through pictures of myself today made me realize how cultivated my style was and just how much it’s changed (and only in 2 years)!
so, heres my album: https://imgur.com/a/FuyIdzf
i would say my style was a mixture of meadow femme, retro witch, and unspecified vintage thrown in there too. it’s always super fun to see people’s inspo albums of themselves because ime not many people have one rigid style and are more blends.
so, did you have a style shift? what caused it? what was your younger self’s style like and whats some advice/inspiration you’d give to someone who wants to replicate it?
