I apologize if this might not belong here, but I have read the rules a couple of times and hopefully will keep within them.

My long-term girlfriend is from Spain, and I am from the US. We have discussed moving abroad for a while now, and after doing a lot of research and weighing the pros and cons of countries and continents we have landed back in her home country of Spain. Now we are still very early in the planning phase but one big question is income. I work for a multi-continent tech company that has high mobility, and am completely remote as of now. Through company policy I have to reside within 30 miles of my old site because I am technically remote in the state (tax purposes and whatnot).

My main question is I know the economy isn't a good over there, and the biggest thing I am worried about is that if I move my job will cut my salary by a large margin to make it competitive to the local salaries (which I understand in theory). My question is: is there a way to "work" in the US remotely while getting salary here and taxed, while working abroad. I do not want to cheat the system or do anything illegal, just a 50% reduction in pay would for sure be a big con on the list of moving.
