How it is possible to be a Christian and still believe in evolution?

Post Body

Like, the young earth creationists are morons, but they are at least consistent. Some Christians (such as myself when I was Christian, though I didn't really think about the contradictions until I was about 16) believe that evolution might be able to be interpreted as being biblical if you squint enough and read things as metaphorical. Of course, now I can't believe that I used to thing that despite how it clearly contradicts what the Bible says. For one thing, Christianity teaches that the fall was the cause of death being a thing, when evolution by definition needs death to exist. And when looking for questions about this, I did hear one apologist say that "the world before the fall was good, but not perfect." Uh, this directly contradicts most everything about Christianity that is taught, which is that the fall is the cause of everything bad. And it raises the question of why did God create an imperfect world? I can at least buy that humanity screwed up what was perfect, but if it was imperfect from the get go, then the blame falls squarely on God's shoulders.
