Dunno if this belongs here, but this happened a few years ago and it was my first time encountering this. So in my neighborhood (like literally across the street from my place) there's a free pool. The only thing needed is a personal lock so your stuff doesn't get stolen.
One summer, it was seriously hot and I decided to go to the pool to cool off. Sadly I didn't know when it opened, and only a certain amount of people were let in at a time, so I was stuck waiting in line for about 3 hours in the blazing sun. When I finaly got to the front and was just about to internally celebrate, a whole group of preteens suddenly came and stood in front of me. Turns out the 2 kids standing ahead of me were waiting for their friends to show up. And in total there was like 20 of them!
When it was time for the next group to go in, the group started to proceed. I donβt know if it was the unbearable heat mixed with me being a bit dehydrated and being slightly cheated out of something I had waited patiently for, but I snapped. I argued that they just showed up and it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the line for them to get in while the rest of us had baked in the sun the whole time. Others in the line chimed in and the kids practically had huffing tantrums till security made them move out of the line, allowing the rest of us to go in. Those kids were glaring daggers at me, but I didn't really care because I finally got to swim and enjoy some pool time.
I don't know if they were made to go to the back of the line and wait again, but once I left the pool, I didn't see them again.
