I need to replace a bias stabilizing transistor (darlington) in an old harman kardon amp. Here are the schematics, etc:
The bias transistors are Q415 and Q416. Please forgive the crude arrows. It is a 2SC1472K darlington. Datasheet:

NTE Cross reference told me an NTE172A would work my supply has just vanished in a puff of smoke. Datasheet:
I can grab some TIP20s at radioshack or TIP22s if needed, I can also dig around for other chips if they are commonly available in old consumer devices (think the thrift store dumpster).
I was testing voltage (it was off dammit!) and shorted the damn thing putting on a probe clamp. No bleeder resistors in these things and the caps still had 30 V on the B rail after waiting a few mins. Live and learn.
