This is at a "service complaint inspection" filed from the utility company (DTE) about the meter being tampered with.
When I arrived, the homeowner greeted me and explained his neighbor was a "licensed electrician" and told her he could repair the wiring to "meet code."
🤣 Alrighty then....
The lineman who I met on site was not very happy when he got shocked taking the cover off. For once it wasn't me getting zapped first, lol
So, the neighbor who made the wonderful repairs decided to come out of his house and begin to argue that his work was safe and that there is nothing wrong with it.
He explained to us "I told her (the victim) that I worked for a licensed electrician in the past, not that I was a licensed electrician" and that "he has fixed several meters in the past just like this and it was approved in other jurisdictions" with his former employer.
😅 Sure you did....
That didn't go over too well with DTE and they are filing charges against him. I'm not thinking it was worth the $500 bucks he charged her for his outstanding and professional work.
Be good 👍
I did not do the horrific repairs. I did the inspection.
These pics are from completed inspections.
I am not asking for help to decide on what to do, I have already made my decision.
The questions are just for friendly conversation and your professional opinion(s).
