Clarification re: key shards vs old IC trophies.

Hi all, during my hiatus, the update rolled out that converted the original six IC trophies into the key shards. I have a few stacks of old trophies in my inventory that Iām wanting to use.
How do I use them now? I have mostly old trophies but a few dozen of the new key shards as well.
Also, which vault is best to open for a magblade DPS?
