Hey everyone! I’ve been working through the audiobooks version of Dune on my morning commutes. Almost through CoD and some stuff has been confusing to me about Leto II’s actions after his forced spice intake. I want to understand as much as I can before moving onto the 4th book.
Why does Leto take on the sand trout skin? Did I miss this part of his vision? Maybe he needed to separate himself from his human form in order to fulfill his Golden Path.
Why does Leto kill The Preacher’s guide? Was he going to turn him in to his father? It seemed like Paul wanted to keep the kid as his guide. Leto acted very aggressively and impulsively killing a blind man’s eyes.
I believe Leto’s goal is to reverse everything his father had started in order to keep Arrakis as it was before the Jihad. Does this sound correct?
Great input. Thank you I totally forgot about the Thumper
